So I have my first replies, from the NFL teams the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Texans. Pretty prosaic at this point, but they didn’t tell me to blow myself, or call me a f**kwad, so they’re one up on LFC…

Dear Richie,
Thank you for your email and support of the Houston Texans! We are thrilled that you are looking for a team to support and are considering cheering for the Houston Texans. Our mission is to create and maintain the most respected and most valuable professional sports franchise in the world. The team is also very dedicated to community outreach initiatives and programs. We hope you choose to cheer for us and look forward to hearing from you. Thank you and have a great day!
GO TEXANS!
I’m loving the enthusiasm there. They are certainly the frontrunners by default, check them out here:

I’m working on some kind of framework by which to make my final decision, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
GO ME!!!

The Texans use the word ‘franchise’ in their reply. Surely that sets alarm bells ringing? Franchises = merchandising, merchandising = beach balls…
